Today, we face many challenges on a global scale, including social issues such as hunger, poverty, and widening inequality, as well as environmental issues such as climate change and environmental destruction. In order to solve these common challenges, social responsibility and sustainability have become important themes for corporate management.

Supplying products that contribute to reducing environmental impact

Supplying products that contribute to reducing environmental impact
Our core technology, chlorination, utilizes chlorine generated by Nippon Light Metal Co.,Ltd. during the production of caustic soda. Caustic soda production involves the electrolysis process of a solution of raw salt dissolved in pure water, which consumes a large amount of electricity, but the electricity used in Nippon Light Metal's electrolysis process is mostly renewable energy derived from hydroelectric power generation. Therefore, the chlorine we procure is clean chlorine with extremely low CO2 emissions in the manufacturing process, and the various intermediates manufactured using such chlorine are also environmentally friendly products, and the hydrogen chloride byproduct of this manufacturing process is purified to 35% hydrochloric acid, all of which is supplied to Nippon Light Metal Co.,Ltd..
By manufacturing various intermediates in this process and supplying them to primary product manufacturers, we reduce CO2 emissions throughout the supply chain, thereby contributing to the reduction of environmental impact.

Reducing the Risk of Environmental Pollution

Reducing the Risk of Environmental Pollution
We take measures specified in our product shipping work rules and filling work procedures when bringing in raw materials and taking out products to delivery destinations, and we take measures such as making all processes enclosed spaces to prevent leakage even during manufacturing.
For wastewater generated in the manufacturing process, we have established a wastewater treatment process via activated carbon adsorption tanks and neutralization pits, etc. For soot containing chlorine and hydrogen chloride gas, we have constructed a system to dissolve chlorine and hydrogen chloride gas in water to produce hydrochloric acid, and we are thoroughly working to neutralize it before releasing it, thereby reducing emissions of chemical substances that affect the environment. emissions of chemical substances that affect the environment.
We have also taken measures to prevent the infiltration of hazardous substances into the soil where the plant is located, such as using concrete to prevent the infiltration of hazardous substances.

Waste Reduction and Effective Use of Resources

Waste Reduction and Effective Use of Resources
We are actively engaged in activities to curb waste emissions themselves, such as reducing the amount of liquid waste generated and inventory, reducing product refill operations, and preventing production problems, as well as promoting recycling by sorting and collecting waste materials. In particular, in the process of manufacturing toluene and xylene derivatives, we are reducing waste by commercializing by-products as well.
All of the hydrogen chloride gas generated during chlorination is turned into 35% hydrochloric acid at the hydrochloric acid refinery and sold to Nippon Light Metal Company, Ltd.
As a result of these highly productive manufacturing processes, we have achieved a high yield rate of 95%.
We plan to complete construction of a hydrochloric acid heat recovery facility in 2023, with plans to effectively utilize approximately 1,400 tons of hydrochloric acid as raw fuel for our own use.
