Toluene Derivatives
Our company started out in the business of producing chlorotoluene derivatives.
At the time of our establishment, we produced p-Chlorobenzyl chloride (PCBC) as a raw material for agrochemicals for our parent company, KUMIAI CHEMICAL INDUSTRY CO., LTD. Gradually, the company pioneered the effective use of byproducts generated in the manufacturing process, and has since produced new products such as o-chlorotoluene derivatives as well as aldehydes and acid chlorides. These toluene derivatives are used as raw materials for pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals.
Xylene Derivatives
Based on the toluene chlorination developed since our founding, we are now focusing on the xylene chlorination and derivatives business.
These xylene derivatives are used as raw materials for high-performance fibers and resins.
Other Aromatic Compounds
To meet the needs of our customers, we are also developing other aromatic compounds.
Aliphatic Compounds
In recent years, we have been developing not only aromatics but also aliphatic compounds such as (meth)acrylic acid chlorides and alicyclic carboxylic acid chlorides.
Future Initiatives
We started out in the business of producing chlorotoluene derivatives and have grown our business by effectively utilizing the byproducts generated in the production process.
As part of our future initiatives, we plan to complete construction of a hydrochloric acid heat recovery facility in 2023 and effectively utilize approximately 1,400 tons of hydrochloric acid as raw fuel in-house, thereby promoting the effective use of resources and reduction of CO2 emissions. In addition, we will actively engage in SDG-conscious business activities, including activities to curb waste emissions themselves, such as reducing the amount of liquid waste generated and inventory, reducing product refill operations, and preventing production problems, as well as promoting recycling through waste separation and collection.
